Your quinceanera is one of the most important moments in your life. One of the most important considerations you will need to make is who will cater the event. After all, the better the food, the more memorable the event and the happier your guests will be. Thus, you need to do your research into any potential venue or caterer you might use. This way, you can be sure that this professional is best for you. The following are just some of the top questions to ask your caterer before you sign any contracts.

Budget, Budget, Budget

One of the first things you should find out is whether or not the caterer is within your price range. You don’t have to break the bank or go into debt just to have delicious food at your quince reception. Ask about how billing works and how prices are determined. Some kinds of foods or menus may cost more than others. This is important to consider when you sit down with a caterer to draw up your dream menu for your wedding.

Hot or Not

When talking to a caterer, find out about his or her expertise. Some caterers have specialties and will only make and serve certain foods. Additionally, you should know whether or not you plan on investing in a cake from this caterer and if they provide this service. Some caterers only specialize in appetizers and entrees whereas others can include a cake. Ask, ask, ask.

Booze or Just Food

When you walk in to talk to a caterer, be prepared to ask about beverage options.  Ask about the different varieties of non-alcoholic beverages so that you and your friends have a wide selection of great drinks.

Note: Mom, you will want to ask caterers about alcohol service. Some caterers will service alcohol and will include it in the catering package whereas others will ask for an additional fee. Similarly, ask if there is a corkage fee. If a catering company does include alcohol, you need to find out what kind is included. Some groups will offer only beer and wine and will ask folks to pay for mixed drinks and some companies will only offer certain brands and options. Similarly, take the time to inquire about non-alcoholic drink options.

Do you get the Package Deal?

When it comes to the food at a wedding, you will need the food and drinks served. Thus, you need to inquire about what is included in a catering package: Will you receive servers and staff to work the event, or will you have to hire out or pay extra for this? Similarly, ask if the caterer plans on providing the plates, serving items, and even the tables for the event.

Remember, your the Boss

The more you know about the services of a catering company, the better able you will be when it comes to deciding which is the best value.
