Yeah. Its almost here. That day you have been waiting for!! So, do you have everything ready? Is your MOH (maid-of-honor) totally prepped for all her duties?
For planning your “once-in-a-lifetime,” here are some top 10 essentials not to forget:
1. Put together a Bridal Surival Kit
Create a bridal survival kit of emergency items your or your bridesmaids might need before the wedding. (Think nail clippers and file, nail polish, adhesive for dresses, makeup remover, a small mending kit with needle and thread, etc.)
2. Confirm your Vendors
Create a master list of all the vendors providing services for your wedding, and call each one a two weeks before the wedding and then again five days before the wedding to confirm details.
3. Bring your essential items to the Wedding Site
Plan to have essential items delivered to the wedding site in advance of your arrival. Have a close friend or family member deliver your gown to the dressing room and straighten it out with a hand-held steamer prior to your arrival.
4. Wedding Accessories Survival Kit
Prepare a small bag of all of your accessories such as jewelry, a veil, shoes, and undergarments to be delivered with your dress. Prepare this bag a few days in advance, as this will give you time to add things you might have forgotten as the day approaches.
5. Pack your Honeymoon Bag
Prepare your suitcase for your honeymoon in advance, and plan who will be responsible for delivering it your honeymoon suite.
6. Remember to Eat
Arrange for light, nutritious snacks for the bridesmaids and groomsmen in their dressing rooms. Some will have skipped breakfast, and this will help everyone steady their blood sugars.
7. Give your Attendants Clear Directions
Provide attendants with written information regarding arrival times, what items they should bring with them, and specific responsibilities. Plan to have your maid of honor arrive early so that she will have time to help you with your dress and other needs.
8. Check on the Rings
It seems silly. But, before you head into a panick about the sort of goofy best man that has been your man’s best friend since they were born, just gently remind everyone to keep the rings close. Be certain that your maid of honor has the groom’s ring in her possession.
9. Bring your Makeup
Plan to have a few makeup essentials with you during the reception. Consider that you may want to touch up your lipstick after cutting the cake, or excuse yourself to the ladies room to brush on some powder and reduce shine.
10. Enjoy Yourself
Your special day will be sure to fly by, so plan in advance to pay attention, be present, and enjoy yourself.
