Riverwalk Venues We Love (for a Quince!)

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

by: Veronika Lazabal

Along the banks of the San Antonio River is the Riverwalk—a network of walkways lined by shops, restaurants, and some of the city’s most beautiful wedding venues. When it comes to planning a quince along the Paseo de Rio, we couldn’t help but fall in love with some of the Walk’s hotels. (And we’re willing to bet that you’ll go head over heels for some of these San Antonio hot spots, too)

Omni La Mansion del Rio

We absolutely adore the Spanish architecture and elegant ambiance at this four diamond resort. Despite the fact that the hotel is located in the heart of the busy Riverwalk district, the entire place embodies the charm and grace of a Spanish hacienda. Walk through the doors of the idyllic Iberian Ballroom and you might just have a tough time envisioning your quince any place else. Click here to book the Omni La Mansion del Rio.

Remember girls, this is a location for those without a budget in mind!

The Saint Anthony

Built in 1909, this ornate (and simply breathtaking) hotel is a National Historic Landmark. We love everything about this Victorian gem—and so will you. Details like eight foot wide crystal chandeliers and carefully restored paintings will lend your quince an air of sophistication and beauty that you wouldn’t be able to recreate at a newer venue. Ask for The Saint Anthony’s wedding package to see if they can extend it for a quince so you and your damas can have a cool slumber party and recap all the evenings cool events….Nice.

Inn on the Riverwalk

For those of your chicas who prefer the charm of a bed and breakfast to the bustle of a big hotel, may we suggest the Inn on the Riverwalk? Aside from being a beautiful venue in a stunning setting, the Inn has the added benefit of a fully customizable party. They do A LOT of weddings so just ask what their specials are for quinces.  You can have them arrange the entire event, or just pick and choose what you want them to handle for you.
