How did you and the Groom Meet?

Renata: The groom was with another girl for 7 years. But, we had mutual friends and we started to all hang as a group. Then Fabio broke up with his ex-girlfriend and started to hang out with us. At the beginning we were just friends and was very hard for us to show our feelings for each other. We had the same group of friends after almost 01 year. Eventually, we couldn’t hold back the feelings anymore and talked with each other about it.

Then we start dateing 11/06/2000. One day before Valentines day in Brazil ( 12/06)

How long did you date before getting engaged? How did he propose?

We are not very formal. We didnt even get engaged. In 2006 we went to Australia to live together for 01 year. When we came back to Brazil we found a house and started to live together. We couldnt live far away anymore. We used to live 45kms of distance.

In January 2009, a friend of ours came to visit. They talked about getting how they had gotten married and went to live in Spain. They started to talk about how good it was. They talked about how important the celebration was to them. All the positive vibration on it. So we decide to get married.

What were the main colors & theme of your wedding? Is there any significance to your colors?

Everythimg was very spontaneous. We are surfers and wanted something very clean, beach style, hippie chic and natural. We choose the local typical flowers. Good for the budget and matched perfect with the place. The lace at the clothes is tipical from Brazil. ( and i was loved it !!)

Did you incorporate anything unique into your wedding (Cultural Traditions and Latina Background)? Did you integrate any DIY (do-it-yourself) elements?

In Brazil at the new year´s eve we used to wear all white. We belive it brings positive vibrations, purifications…any many things hard to translate for me. Have a look at our website www.renataefabio.com.br

Was budget a factor?

Budget was is factor but we didnt want anything to big , we belive “ less is more”. Clean and simple but at the same time sophisticated. Less means less money too. We focused on the importants things, location, food and fun.

Plus, the beach is all ready pretty and special for us we didnt need much to make it beatifull.

? The bride come in a boat, the mothers brought water from the ocean to bless the rings, my father readed a poem and my father in law the “corintos 13”. A friend at the end readed a letter made by her and make every one cry. The priest told me to give a petal of my flower to everyone, so we did small pieces and give to the crawd. Insted of throw the buque ( flower) i throw a frog (plush) so how got it need to kiss it and she win a KEN( barbie boyfriend) groom. EVERY ONE WEARS WHITE CLOTHES
