They say there’s no such thing as the perfect romance, much less the perfect wedding. A look at newlyweds Leslie and Juan may just force you to re-think that opinion. Now, we’re not the envious types, but if we were, this couple’s oh so tender story (and the breathtaking beach wedding that followed) would be enough to create more than one pair of green eyes.
It’s the stuff that movies are made of. Growing up around picturesque Pedregal Beach in Cabo San Lucas, the two enjoyed an easy friendship throughout their childhood and adolescence. A few years older, Juan often found himself responsible for getting Leslie home on time and keeping her out of trouble. So no one was more surprised than Juan the night Leslie walked into a party in a stunning red evening dress, turning every head in the room. Suddenly, the playfulness of youth gave way to something deep and real. And when Juan proposed on the same stretch of sand that had first brought them together, Leslie knew that she had the whole soul mate thing in the bag.

Leslie then put together one of the most romantic bodas we’ve seen in a very long time. Set on the very Pedregal Beach that held so many memories for the young couple, Leslie and Juan’s nuptials were a celebration of Cabo’s naturally breathtaking landscape; and perfectly placed personal touches and sweet surprises throughout the ceremony and reception meant that the entire wedding was tailored to suit the happy pair.

The Color Palette
A crisp color palette of white with blue and green accents lent a contemporary elegance to the look of the beach soiree. The color palette was a combination of both the bride and groom’s favorite colors – blue for the groom and green for the bride.

The Decor
The regal floral selection by Elena Damy (www.elenadamy.com) added to the chic feel of the seaside reception (which included stunning green orchids paired with white roses, freesia and sleepy ladies) Blue touches, including the stemware and chargers, were offset by white tiffany chairs and table cloths. And everywhere, natural elements (including an ingenious table runner made from tiny white rocks) paid tribute to the backdrop of unspoiled natural beauty.

The Dress
Leslie—who simmered in a sleeveless gown and matching veil from Spain’s ProNovias (www.pronovias.com) – personally oversaw every detail of her big day; a proactive approach that really paid off. She incorporated three different musical elements into her reception. A trio of singers entranced guests during cocktail hour with traditional Mexican music, while a local DJ kept people on the dance floor until close to daybreak. And during dinner, it was Flamenco music and dancers (including the bride herself, who surprised her lucky groom with a choreographed number after dessert… incredible!)
And Juan wasn’t the only one to be pleasantly surprised as the night went on. After a sumptuous meal catered by The Lazy Gourmet (www.lazygourmetcatering.com) revelers were treated to midnight munchies, including churros, tamales, and corn with limòn and chìle. Then, of course, there were the fireworks to finish the evening. All in all, a dream wedding in a fairy tale location….sigh!
