Real Wedding: Junia & Andres in California (Part I)

Monday, May 24th, 2010

When we started speaking with Junia & Andres about featuring their wedding, we were so excited! They are an incredible couple with incredible taste.

How did you and the groom meet?

Junia: Aye…there’s a very cute and epic story that follows whenever anyone asks how we met and how long we’ve been together. For this reason I wrote a short story about how we met and had it on our wedding website for all our guests to read.

Paratinovia: How did he propose?

He planned a little weekend getaway to Upper Lake, in Northern California. Said he just wanted it to be relaxing, have a picnic by the lake and stay in a cute bed & breakfast. The idea of him proposing to me totally crossed my mind too! We spent all of Saturday lounging around but when the day ended and he still hadn’t asked me, I convinced myself it wasn’t going to happen on this trip. Sunday came, we had a great breakfast, drove around and then searched for a spot to have a picnic.

We must have stopped at five different locations for our “picnic”, because we just drove and drove for hours. He kept saying he wanted to find a better spot. When we finally found a spot that he was happy with we set up our little area, I started reading my book and he went off with our video camera to film himself the minutes before he was going to ask me to marry him (so I later found out).

ParatiNovia: What were the main colors & theme of your wedding?

Yellow, grey and sage were our main colors. Picked because they’re the colors I wear so often and compliment each other so perfectly.

As far as setting a theme for our wedding, we wanted a blending of modern, graphic design elements, and traditional Mexican touches to come together to make an awesome wedding. We also wanted it to be super fun!
