Palm Springs is great, and Niagara Falls is fun. But for an unforgettable honeymoon experience, nothing beats going south of the border. Think the list of Mexican honeymoon destinations stops at Cancun and Puerto Vallarta? Think again, babe. Here’s a look at three unexpected (and seriously romantic) places in Mexico for your post wedding getaway.

Zihuatanejo

With some of the most dramatic beaches we’ve ever seen, picturesque fishing village vibe, and non-tourist trap appeal, Zihuatanejo is easily one of the most spectacular honeymoon destinations on Earth. From luxury private homes to rustic bungalows or full service resorts, there are great accommodation options for every budget.

Manzanillo

You want to be pampered like a princess. He wants world class golf and fishing. You both want sensuality and romance. Nestled between Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo may just the perfect getaway for both of you. Lots of activities, gorgeous settings, ecotourism options and some of the warmest people in all of Mexico make this hidden hideaway the perfect place for an unforgettable luna de miel.

Isla Holbox

This tiny island is a whopping 26 miles long and doesn’t have a single shopping mall or night club. What it does boast, however, is unspoiled beauty, wildlife sanctuaries, and the romance and excitement of an off-the-beaten path vacation.

I definitely would recommend Holbox. It’s just beautiful and the plus of being still a well-kept secret among the tourists lets the place to keep its magic and the romantic atmosphere perfect for a Honeymoon getaway.
Another perfect honeymoon & wedding hot spot is the Hacienda Tres Rios Resort in the Riviera Maya. You can have a luxurious & eco-friendly stay for such special moments.

Love love LOVE these dresses. I'm a big fan of the bohemian look for any sort of wedding, but I think it's especially appropriate for an outdoor beach wedding (I blog about destination weddings to Mexico.) I posted a few of these pictures and link to this post on my own blog, please check it out at www.WedInMexico.org. I'm also on Twitter @WedInMexico. Thanks!
