Honeymoon Hotspot Destination: The Bahamas

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

By Veronika Lazabal

What’s better than an island for a honeymoon destination? How about 700 islands?! It’s tough to beat the Bahamas for variety. After all—you can spend one day in the total solitude of a deserted tropical island, the next in the excitement of a Vegas style casino, and the one after that on a dolphin swim and zip-line adventure! Here’s a quick peek at a few can’t miss hot spots for your Bahamian honeymoon:

Eat Here:

Café Martinique on the island of Nassau actually made an appearance in a James Bond flick back in 1965—so you know it has to be cool. Retro fabulous dishes like Lobster Thermidor and stylish, plush décor make this restaurant a romantic must on your honeymoon.

Stay Here:

The Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort is one of the quieter all inclusive resorts in the Bahamas… which is exactly what you want on your honeymoon. Powder white sand and turquoise water are a dream come true—especially when their only steps from your room.

Don’t Miss:

There are a few area attractions you’ve just got to take time out of your beach routine to see! Take a tour of the Bacardi distillery on Paradise Island, where you can sample up to 60 different rums; visit the gorgeous statuaries of the Versailles Garden and the 14th century French Stone Monastery that sits above it; or spend a day exploring Crystal Cay—the zoo and aquarium that takes up an entire island.
