Budget Friendly Tips to Help you Find the Perfect Wedding Dress

So you finally found the perfect man… Your parents love him, your sister is sufficiently jealous, and he totally gets your artistic, slightly nutty best friend. He picked a ring with enough sparkle to inspire visions of Liberace. Your caterers are creating a culinary masterpiece that would bring tears to the eyes of Iron Chefs everywhere. So what’s left? Why… selecting a frock that shows off your fabulous figure without breaking the bank, of course.

So what’s a femme fatale like yourself supposed to do about finding the perfect dress, when your budget seems perilously close to being tapped out as it is? How about taking a look outside the (name brand) box for some designer alternatives to nuptial wear?

Go Vintage

Vintage shops are a great place to find a wedding dress that’s not only budget friendly, but completely unique as well. Because, if there’s anything you don’t want to be compared to on your special day- it’s anyone else. Vintage wear also brings a dreamy sense of history and nostalgia that you just can’t get from an off the rack outfit.

Consider Renting a Dress

Another cost conscious idea for frill seekers is dress rentals. (Chances are you’re only going to wear it once any way!) This can be a great way to get the most bang for your big day buck.

Check on the internet

Finally, you should never forget about a frugal fashionista’s best friend- the internet. Well-known retailers like J.Crew and even little known designers have incredible designs for a fraction of a traditional wedding dress. J. Crew even has a wedding dress specialist named Ashley (Ashley@jcrew.com) available at all times to answer all your questions. And, last but not least are online auctions and discount bridal websites that often offer a gal more pricing options- as well as killer customer service.

Now…. All that remains is planning the perfect honeymoon. Bermuda, Cayman Island, or Hawaii?
