The Blog: Wedding Cake Eye Candy

March 5, 2010 / Ideas,

Yum!! We all love looking at beautiful cakes so here are some eye candy pictures to stimulate those taste buds!

A lot of brides are going for a more unconventional color palette these days and  the cake is no exception! Black, especially, seems to be one of the trends right now.  Accenting your cake with non-traditional colors will add a modern twist to your wedding.

Floral designs are always popular and these are some ways you can have a beautiful cake without the tackiness!

And for you brides who love to do everything massive and want to go out with a BANG!  This is an example of how a multi-tiered cake can attract the eyes of every single guest walking into the room without looking like it’s hovering over them or like the cake is about to tip over! Now THAT would not be a pretty sight.

The Blog: Alice in the Wonderland Garden Party

Have you guys heard about the Alice in the Wonderland movie that’s coming out soon? Why not join in on the fun and incorporate the theme into your beautiful garden wedding party! Of course it won’t look as crazy and wild as the Tea Party with the Mad Hatter, but take a look at how excessive decor can be used to create a dream-like story instead of looking overwhelming! Think…. VINTAGE ALICE IN THE SPRINGTIME!

The Blog: Coconut Wedding Cake

March 2, 2010 / Decor Ideas, Ideas,

Hey girls! Take a look at this amazing coconut wedding cake! The bride wasn’t really a fan of wedding cakes, but her favorite cake in the whole world was coconut cake, so a Baltimore restaurant called Clementine had the coconut cake designed for her wedding! It looks like a pillow of snow powder! It looks so delicate and too pretty to eat, but it sure looks yummy!

  • Registry Ideas We Love: Deposit a Gift...

This is a great idea. I love the flexibility of it. To be able to buy what I want, when I want, where I want seems great. And, with the free wedding website - this could be our one stop shop for both telling people about our event and letting them know what we'd like (if they're looking to get us something). Thanks Para ti Novia for letting us know about this. Who knew...

  • Registry Ideas We Love: Deposit a Gift...

I loved the idea of having a honeymoon fund and for people to be able to contribute to the down payment of our house but we did also have a few things we needed for our kitchen. We used a website called myregistry.com to do both--we could make the funds we wanted, but we also were able to register for the things we needed for the kitchen in the same place.
