Sipping Mai-Tai’s while lounging by the pool at a luxury resort may sound like heaven to some, but there are plenty of thrill seeking chicas who would much rather spend their honeymoon on a wild adventure than lying in the sun. If you and your man are a little more daredevil than couch potato, then consider one of these active honeymoon ideas:
Tokyo & Mt. Fuji
It’s tough to beat Tokyo for a fast paced, urban, and completely unique honeymoon. Add to the adventure by planning a nighttime hike to the top of Mt. Fuji. The world’s most recognizable mountain (and Japan’s highest peak) is spectacular from any angle—but it’s hard to beat the view from the top. Set out early, and you’ll make it to the summit in time to see the sun rise.

Belize & the Mayan Ruins
You’d be hard pressed to find a more exciting place to honeymoon than Belize. Kayaking, scuba diving, rain forests, and jungles all make for a different adventure on every day of your vacation. But make sure you set aside some time to visit the Xunatunich and Cahal Pech Mayan Ruins. The former home of a Maya royal family, these ruins are amazingly well preserved—and a once in a lifetime trip.

Egypt, the Nile & the Pyramids
To the kings and queens of ancient Egypt, the Nile River was the source of fertility, luck, and life. Today, you can start your honeymoon with a sail down the Nile, and then take in the sights and sounds of Cairo before embarking on an adventure to Giza and the Pyramids.
