All too often the weather outside a winter wedding can be…let’s face it very cold and sometimes dreary. A great way to brighten up the ambiance and mood of your reception is by serving your guests fun winter wedding cocktails, especially signature wedding cocktails that you have invented DIY style.
You can bring your winter wedding reception to life with rich and warm or vibrantly colorful cocktail treats.
Toasted Almond Shot
When guests arrive, have them greeted with a shot of warmth. The Toasted Almond is a sweet rich splash of goodness to start the wedding off right.
What you will need:
1/2oz amaretto almond liquor
1/2oz Kahlua coffee liquor
1/2oz light cream
Shake and serve in a double shot glass.
To convert this concoction to a drink instead of shot, combine
2oz amaretto almond liquor
2oz Kahlua coffee liquor
2oz light cream
Shake and serve into a highball glass.
Apple Cider Punch
Not all winter wedding drinks need contain alcohol. This punch is great for adults and children alike looking to get a warm feeling.
3 red apples
2 cups hulled strawberries
4 chopped mint sprigs
4 cups apple juice
7 cups apple cider
3 cups lemonade
Ingredients should be chilled. Cut apples into cubes and combine the mint and fruit with the apple juice in large punch bowl and mix. Cover and refrigerate until serving. When ready to be served add apple cider and lemonade. To spike this delicious blend, top it off with a splash of Tuaca, an Italian liquor.
Poinsettia
This is a vibrantly colorful champagne cocktail drink has an adorable winter flower name.
1 tbsp Grand Marnier® orange liqueur
1 part cranberry juice
1 part Champagne
Mix the champagne and cranberry juice, and then float the Grand Marnier on top. Serve in a champagne flute and garnish with a small orange slice.
Dreamy Winter Delight
This blend makes for a delicious desert accompaniment and a fun alternative to Irish coffee which people love to gravitate to in the winter…right? This is a great winter drink that will say more warm winter wedding than winter.
2 oz Irish cream
6 oz hot chocolate
Amaretto almond liqueur
1 can whip cream
Pour Irish cream into a coffee mug or heatproof cup with hot chocolate. Add amaretto to taste, stir and top off with a small squirt of whip cream.
